It didn’t eliminate spider webs (or the spiders that produce them) completely. Surprisingly, at least for me, it seems to work as well as anything else. Not expecting much, due to previous experience with other natural products that promise the moon, I went ahead and tried this Spider Repellent Peppermint Oil from Mighty Mint. I also realize that one can only achieve control, but not complete pest elimination with any product. I’m not a purist organic, but really don’t want to be dousing the siding around my windows and doors with strong pesticides. But they collect bits of leaves, lawn clippings, dog hair and other debris that blow in the wind in our yard. Particularly areas where there is some artificial, outside lighting at night. In the middle of a hot, dry summer, we get many spider webs on our cedar house siding that build up over time. So it's kind of a mixed bag - it didn't seem to work against the spiders, but it did take care of some other insects. The scent was gone by the 24-hour mark, but so were the flying pests. What I did notice was a marked decrease in flying pests. So I didn't really see a difference in spider populations. In areas that were sprayed that did have spiders the day prior, there were still spiders. In areas that were sprayed that did not have any spiders the day prior, there were still no spiders. I wouldn't normally use a chemical insect repellent, but this spray is natural, so it seemed safe for use in areas that I knew they'd be touching.Īfter 24 hours, I checked on the results. I also like that it's non-toxic, so I feel good about using it where my kids play. I love the way this spray smells, it's very minty. Some areas had spiders already in residence, some did not. I used a heavy hand and sprayed all over where we normally sit and play. Mighty Mint Natural Spray for Spiders and Insects offered a non-toxic solution to keeping spiders (and other pests) away, so I was really excited to try it. I hate spiders and I hate how they always gravitate toward my outdoor seating areas and my kids' play areas.
